King Mohammed VI received this Wednesday at the Royal Palace in Tetouan the athlete Soufiane El Bakkali, gold medallist in the men’s 3,000 m steeplechase at the Summer Olympic Games (Paris 2024).

On this occasion, the Sovereign decorated Soufiane El Bakkali with the Al Arch Wissam of the Commander’s Order.

This audience reflects the King’s high solicitude for young people and the particular interest he grants to the sports sector, all disciplines combined.

Soufiane El Bakkali achieved a historic and unprecedented feat at the latest Olympics, as he retained his title for the second consecutive time after the Tokyo 2020 edition.
