Akhannouch represents Morocco’s King at inauguration ceremony of Mauritania’s President

Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch arrived in Nouakchott on Thursday to represent King Mohammed VI at the inauguration ceremony of Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani as President of Mauritania for a second term.

Ould El Ghazouani has comfortably won Presidential re-election in July after securing 56.12% of the votes in the first round.
Following his victory, the Moroccan King sent him a message of congratulation and reaffirmed steadfast determination to work with him to enhance further cooperation set between the two countries which are building a “model partnership” based on strong bonds of brotherhood and solidarity.

On his part, the Mauritanian president renewed, in a message of congratulations to King Mohammed VI on Throne Day, his resolve to work together with the Monarch to strengthen and develop cooperation relations between Morocco and Mauritania, in the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
