CAR President addresses written message to Morocco’s King, FM reiterates support to Autonomy Plan

President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadéra has addressed a written message to King Mohammed VI.

The message was handed over by CAR Foreign Minister Sylvie Baïpo-Temon to her Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita at a meeting in Rabat Monday.

During a press briefing following the meeting, Baïpo-Temon praised “the excellent cooperation that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Central African Republic have maintained for a very long time,” emphasizing that this cooperation is not only friendly but also fraternal.

She also took the opportunity to reiterate her country’s constant and clear attachment to the territorial integrity of Morocco.
The Central African Republic’s top diplomat also reaffirmed her country’s support for the Morocco-proposed autonomy plan as the only credible and realistic solution for resolving the Sahara regional dispute, in compliance with the United Nations Charter.

“The Central African Republic always stands by the Kingdom of Morocco and its efforts to find a sound and peaceful solution,” said Baïpo-Temon, adding that the Moroccan autonomy plan “is a peaceful solution that is in line with the United Nations Charter.”

She on the other hand expressed her heartfelt thanks to Morocco for its multifaceted support to the efforts undertaken by the Central African Republic in the context of the crisis recovery process and voiced her country’s desire to further strengthen its excellent relations with the North African Kingdom.
