Morocco opens embassy in Gambia
Morocco officially opened its embassy in Gambia’s capital Banjul, expressing strong willingness to deepen ties at all levels.
Morocco’s foreign minister Nasser Bourita inaugurated the embassy on the sidelines of his attendance of an OIC summit in Banjul.
The opening was attended by Gambia’s foreign minister and members of the accredited diplomatic corps.
Morocco and Gambia are bound by centuries-old ties that have been fostered under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and Gambia’s President Adama Barrow.
Gambia was the first African country to open a consulate in Morocco’s southern city of Dakhla, a move which was followed by dozen other African countries
