Security Cooperation: Chief of Morocco’s DGSN-DGST on a working visit to Qatar as part of a regional tour
Director General of Morocco’s National Security and Territorial Surveillance agencies Abdellatif Hammouchi paid a working visit to Qatar as part of a regional tour to several Middle Eastern countries.
Hammouchi and his accompanying delegation met in Doha with several high-ranking Qatari security officials, including the head of State Security.
According to a statement from the DGSN-DGST, Abdellatif Hammouchi, started a regional tour to various Middle Eastern countries on April 21, with Qatar being the first stop.
During his working visit to Doha, Abdellatif Hammouchi held discussions with senior Qatari security officials, including Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al Khelaifi, head of State Security, the statement said, adding that the meeting provided opportunity to assess common challenges facing the two countries, especially those related to cross-border crime, terrorist threats, and the repercussions of worrying developments in certain hot spots across the world.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the two parties to strengthen joint cooperation through the implementation of “important security partnerships”, and to examine ways of consolidating security coordination between the two countries, in addition to exchanging expertise and experience in all security fields and stepping up efforts to deal with the repercussions of the scourge of terrorism on the security and stability of both countries.
Hammouchi’s Middle East tour comes in the midst of an international context marked by several changes and various security challenges.
