Efret company launches road freight service between Morocco and UK to support growing trade

Efret logistics Company has launched lately a road freight service from the UK to Morocco, a politically stable and business-friendly country increasingly looking to new markets to promote growth.

The expansion of the Moroccan economy is creating new opportunities for UK firms. Last year, UK’s exports to the North African Kingdom reached £1.4 billion which is likely to increase further as the country gears up for the joint hosting of the World Cup in 2030 with Portugal and Spain.

With scheduled departures every weekday throughout the year, the new international road transport service operates from any UK collection point, except Northern Ireland, and delivers to all regions of Morocco including, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Fes, Marrakesh, and Casablanca.

Alain Jestin, Efret CEO said: “We support the growth of British business by launching a new service from the UK to Morocco. This will complement our existing services to destinations across Europe.”

To promote UK and Moroccan trade, UK export finance agency (UKEF) had announced in 2022 a £4 billion funding for overseas buyers of UK goods and services to strengthen the trade relationship between the UK and Morocco.

The North African Kingdom offers a range of opportunities for UK businesses, such as potential projects in energy transition, water desalination, and infrastructure, including rail, roads, ports and airports to boost the domestic economy through new transport links.

Following its exit from the European Union, UK signed with Morocco and several other countries trade agreements to ensure continuity of trade exchanges, services, and economic cooperation ties.
