2030 World Cup: Slogan & Visual Identity of Morocco-Portugal-Spain Bid Unveiled in Lisbon

2030 World Cup: Slogan & Visual Identity of Morocco-Portugal-Spain Bid Unveiled in Lisbon

The slogan “YallaVamos 2030” and the visual identity of the joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain bid for the 2030 World Cup were unveiled on Tuesday in Lisbon, marking a significant milestone in the joint bid for the 2030 World Cup.

The event, attended by the heads of the Moroccan and Portuguese football federations, Fouzi Lekjaa and Fernando Gomes, and Fernando Sanz of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, showcased the bid’s pillars, narrative, official website, video, and social media pages.

The visual identity of the “YallaVamos 2030” bid took center stage at the presentation.

The coordinating committee drew inspiration from naive art, a style shared by artists from the three countries and continents. The visual identity, characterized by arcs of solid red, yellow, green, and blue, pays tribute to the colors of the three countries’ flags while symbolizing the elements of nature.

The coordination commission for the 2030 World Cup bid emphasized that “Morocco, Portugal and Spain connect the coasts of Africa and Europe, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, and welcome the world at the crossroads of civilizations. Three countries with a shared history, culture, geography, and ambition, which are individually unique, but collectively intertwined”.

The representative of Portugal in the coordination commission, Antonio Laranjo, indicated that the slogan “YallaVamos. For Football. For the World. For Tomorrow” speaks to everyone, whether they “are players, coaches, fans, dreamers, or leaders, whether they want to support, celebrate, show direction or commitment, whether they want to convince someone or convey a message.”

“YallaVamos is the very first and only way to start: Go Forward in our three languages. Together, let’s seize this unique opportunity to build the most sustainable, inclusive, innovative, and prosperous FIFA World Cup in history. Together, let’s leave a lasting legacy for our three nations, our two continents, and the whole world,” he said.

President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, on his part said the joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain bid for the 2030 FIFA World Cup aims to offer the best edition in football history.

“Our goal is to organize an exceptional event encompassing all sporting aspects, combined with human and civilizational dimensions,” Lekjaa underlined, noting that this football event draws its strength, not only from its organization by three countries and two continents, but also from its civilizational aspect linking the two shores of the Mediterranean, through their history and the various civilizations that have succeeded one another in the region.

Affirming that the three countries have all the logistical resources to organize the World Cup in the best conditions, FRMF president said that what will most distinguish this joint organization is the human dimension that characterizes both shores of the Mediterranean basin.

In this context, he underlined the need to promote the civilizational aspects of this region and to allow the rising generations and young people of the Mediterranean and the whole world to learn the lessons of this civilization and build the pillars to strengthen the human dimensions in the future.

This event was also marked by the presentation of the visual identity of the “YallaVamos 2030” bid. The coordination commission explored the dimension of naïve art that connects many artists from the three countries and the two continents. Through arcs of circles, in blocks of red, yellow, green, and blue, the visual identity celebrates the colors of the three countries’ flags, as it symbolizes elements of nature.

“On the right, the number 0 is illustrated by a sun whose three rays – our three countries – are turned towards the future to shape together the football of tomorrow and encircle a vintage black and white football echoing our long tradition and passion for football. On the left, the number 3, where we find the sea and the beach that characterize our 3 countries and where our children gather every day to play football. Because everything starts here, from a blue sea and golden sand. It all begins from our shared nature: Sun, sea, and wind. These natural elements will also play a major role in making this event the most sustainable FIFA World Cup in history. And if we look closely, these arcs of circles are also bridges that unite our 3 nations, our two continents, as well as football fans from around the world,” the commission explained.

Regarding the positioning and vision of the “YallaVamos 2030” bid, the coordination commission indicates that this concept highlights 3 nations and 2 continents unified by a common vision to set the standards for the next hundred years.

The joint Morocco, Portugal and Spain bid was formally launched with the signing of a declaration of intent at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé in October. Subsequently, the FIFA Council unanimously accepted the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid as the sole candidate to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
