United Airlines to launch Marrakech-New York direct flights

United Airlines has signed a deal with Morocco’s tourism authorities to launch a direct air route linking Marrakech to New York.

The deal was signed between the airlines and Morocco’s tourism promotion office as it eyes more American visitors to the Red city.

United Airlines will be using its Boeing 767-300 with 167 seat capacity to operate three weekly flights starting from October this year.

The air link is the second with North America after ONMT signed a deal with Air Transat to operate direct flights to Montreal.

The new air routes add existing ones operated by Moroccan airlines RAM linking Casablanca to New York, Washington, and Miami.

Morocco relies on increasing air routes between Moroccan cities and European airports to attract more tourists.

Morocco’s tourism has turned the Covid 19 page breaking a new record with the arrival of 14.5 million tourists last year, up 34% from 2022.

Morocco plans to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026, as it bolsters air and rail travel between cities ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
