Means to further deepen, diversify Morocco-USA ties; promote peace in Africa & the Middle East reviewed in Washington
Newly appointed Morocco’s ambassador to the United States, Youssef Amrani, was received Tuesday at the State Department in Washington by the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf.
During this first working meeting, the two officials welcomed the excellent centuries-old and multifaceted relations between Morocco and the United States and discussed means to further deepen and diversify these ties.
The discussions also focused on the importance of building on achievements and exploring innovative cooperation mechanisms to match the shared ambition to strengthen political dialogue and strategic partnership.
The talks, which touched on regional and international issues, showed a broad convergence of views and highlighted the two countries’ desire to deepen their joint action to promote peace, security and stability in Africa and the Middle East.
The discussions focused on the identification of synergies that could enhance initiatives regarding global issues of common interest and the promotion of shared prosperity.
