Morocco, UAE ink MoUs covering several areas, opening broader horizons for fruitful partnership
King Mohammed VI of Morocco and the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan presided over the signing ceremony of multiple memoranda of understanding at the Abu Dhabi Presidential Palace on Monday.
These memoranda which cover various pivotal sectors are all meant to bolster cooperation between the two nations. The agreements exchanged concern investment partnerships in high-speed rail projects, water infrastructure, development initiatives, and energy sector collaborations.
The first memorandum focuses on establishing an investment partnership in high-speed rail projects in the Kingdom, exchanged between the Emirati Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Souhail Mohamed Al Mazroui, and the Director of the National Office of Railways, Mohamed Rabii El Khlie.
The second involves establishing an investment partnership in the water sector, exchanged between Souhail Mohamed Al Mazroui and the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, while the third, relating to establishing a partnership in the field of development, was exchanged between the Emirati Minister of Investment, Mohamed Hassan Souidi, and the Deputy Minister in charge of the Budget, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa.
The fourth MoU concluded between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the OCP Group was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and the CEO of the OCP Group, Mostafa Terrab, while the fifth concerning the establishment of an investment partnership in energy sector projects was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Ms. Leila Benali.
The sixth memorandum focusing on establishing cooperation and partnership in the agriculture and marine fisheries sectors was exchanged between the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Ms. Mariam Bint Mohammad Al Mheiri, and the Minister of Agriculture, Marine Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, while the seventh on cooperation in investment in the airport sector, was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil.
The eighth MoU on investment in the ports sector, was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and Nizar Baraka, while the ninth, relating to establishing an investment partnership regarding the Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline project, was exchanged between Souhail Mohamed Al Mazroui and the Director-General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Ms. Amina Benkhadra.
The tenth memorandum, establishing cooperation in the financial markets and capital sector, was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Ms. Nadia Fettah, while the eleventh, establishing an investment partnership in the tourism and real estate sector, was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and the Deputy Minister in charge of Investment, Mohcine Jazouli.
Regarding the establishment of an investment partnership in Data Center projects, the twelfth Memorandum was exchanged between Mohamed Hassan Souidi and Mohcine Jazouli.
These memorandums are poised to significantly boost Moroccan-Emirati cooperation relations and underscore the depth and quality of bilateral relations, as well as the determination of both Heads of State to strengthen the multidimensional strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries.
This memorandum exchange ceremony took place in the presence of the members of the large official delegation accompanying the Sovereign, as well as several high-profile Emirati personalities.
