Egypt to stage 3rd EDEX defense exhibition Dec. 4-7

Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX), the country’s only defense and security event that covers Africa and the Middle East is happening on December 4 and 7, for the third time since inception.

The ministry of Defense of the Arab country, one of the organizers, is expecting over 35,000 visitors at the event boasted as the largest defense exhibition in Africa.

The exhibition to take place at Egypt International Exhibition Centre in Cairo will showcase through 22 pavilions the latest in land, marine, and air military technology, equipment, and systems through 400 exhibitors from 46 countries.

The exhibitors come from around the world, including Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, South Korea, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and the U.S.

The Egyptian pavilion will feature the cutting-edge present and future capabilities of the Ministry of Military Production.

The event also showcases state-of-the-art products covering all aspects of Defense and Security, including shipbuilding, maintenance and repair, cyber security, missile systems, unmanned and autonomous systems, parachuting and airdrop, satellite communication, search and rescue, surveillance systems, tactical equipment, training and simulation equipment, and much more.

EDEX though young, has gained global traction. It is backed by high-level industry sponsors, including some of the world’s most reputable military equipment manufacturers, namely Amstone, Dassault Aviation, Hanwha, MBDA, ALIT, Lockheed Martin, Naval Group, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Esri, NAS, and Leonardo DRS.

Egypt launched the biennial event in 2018. The second edition took place in 2021.
