EBRD supports Moroccan youth-led micro & SMEs unlock their full potential
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) launched this Monday its “Youth in Business” program in Morocco destined to help young entrepreneurs unlock their full potential as drivers of inclusive market economies.
As part of the program, the European bank pledges to provide €100 million in credit lines to six eligible partner financial institutions (PFIs) for lending to youth-led micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) over a five-year period.
The “Youth in Business” program of EBRD enables young entrepreneurs to develop their business skills and access to financing opportunities. The new initiative supports MSMEs to bring new ideas to market.
MSMEs that are privately owned or managed by entrepreneurs under the age of 35 will be eligible to receive tailored capacity-building and business consulting services, including one-to-one advisory projects, training in entrepreneurship, e-learning, and network-building activities.
The EBRD’s Youth in Business program is currently deployed in Egypt, Morocco, and the Western Balkans. The program is supported by the European Union, Luxembourg, Sweden, and Italy through the Central European Initiative.
