Libya, Bangladesh ink deal for recruitment of workers
Libya and Bangladesh signed Wednesday October 25 a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate employment procedures and enhance cooperation between the two countries, ‘Libya Update’ reports.
The Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed, and the Minister of Expatriates Welfare and Employment of Bangladesh, Imran Ahmed, signed the deal in Tripoli.
The Libyan official said that the MoU came within the framework of organizing the recruitment process for Bangladeshi workers so that it takes place through the procedures of the expatriates’ digital platform to ensure that workers are not exploited or exposed to fraud.
The two countries had signed previously cooperation agreements in many areas including strengthening cooperation to organize the recruitment of qualified workers from Bangladesh to Libya in accordance with the legislation and laws in force in both countries.
