Funeral in Casablanca of Late Aïcha El Khattabi, in Presence of Prince Moulay Rachid

The funeral of Aïcha El Khattabi, daughter of the late Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim El Khattabi, took place in Casablanca on Thursday, in the presence of Prince Moulay Rachid.

After the Dhuhr and funeral prayers, the body of the deceased was buried in the Errahma cemetery.

The funeral was attended by family members and relatives, as well as by several personalities.

The late Aïcha El Khattabi passed away in Casablanca on Wednesday, at the age of 81, after a long illness.

Born in 1942, she lived and studied in Egypt, before returning to the motherland after the death of her father.

Holder of a bachelor’s degree from the American College for Girls in Cairo, the deceased had, during her lifetime, held the position of advisor to the Mohamed Abdelkrim El Khattabi Foundation.

Abdelkrim El Khattabi, nephew of the deceased and grandson of late Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim El Khattabi said that Aicha El Khattabi was always deeply attached to national constants, and has an unwavering fidelity and loyalty to the Alaouite Throne.

These constants were, for the deceased, indivisible and could in no way be subject to bargaining, he said following the passing away of his aunt.

El Khattabi also noted that late Aicha El Khattabi and her family, like their late father, were fervent defenders of the unity of the Fatherland and deeply attached to their King.

The stay of this family abroad for family reasons never prevented them from developing the same patriotic spirit as all Moroccans, he said, recalling that his family had risen up against the exile of the country’s legitimate Sultan, late king Mohammed V, while demanding his return to the Kingdom.

“My family always believed in a strong and united Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI who never ceased to surround us with his high solicitude and benevolence,” he stressed, recalling that Aicha El Khattabi was received by the Sovereign on the occasion of the celebration of the glorious Throne Day in 2018.

“Like all Moroccans, we have received an education based on the values of true citizenship, and we will always remain mobilized behind HM the King to serve the country’s interests,” he said.
