Addis Ababa: Morocco Takes Part in 19th African Ministerial Conference on the Environment

Morocco is taking part in the 19th African ministerial conference on the environment which opened Tuesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation to counter environmental challenges in the continent.
The four-day gathering is opportunity to strengthen Africa’s collective engagement in the global environmental agenda, including in the various conference of the parties of environmental agreements, the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and other multilateral processes related to combating climate change, desertification, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution.
Participants will also look into the emerging opportunities for a sustainable development of the continent and discuss preparations for the upcoming COP28 due in Dubai (30 Nov-12 Dec.), Africa’s summit, the 6th UN Environment Assembly, Africa’s participation in the development of an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution (INC process) and several other events including UN convention against desertification and International Conference on Chemicals Management.
