Benin sacks 61 police officers for unlawful absence

As many as 61 officers of Benin’s law reinforcement Forces have been sacked as the State blames them for unjustified absence for at least 15 days in a year, reports say.
Alassane Seidou and Romuald Wadagni respectively Minister of Interior and Minister Finance signed the decree announcing the sacking of the officers who belong to the Police sergeants unit.
The men according to the two Departments had been absent from their jobs without justification for 30 days or unlawful absence from their unit for a cumulative period of more than 15 days over a one-year period.
This is the second month in a row that the West African country is sacking several police officers.
