Sahara: Brunei reaffirms steadfast backing to Morocco’s territorial integrity
Brunei’s Government has reiterated strong and unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire Sahara territory.
The supportive stand was voiced by Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof, Second Foreign minister of this Southeast Asian country following talks he held Monday in Rabat with Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita.
Brunei Darussalam lauds the serious efforts made by Morocco for a “lasting and peaceful” settlement of the Sahara regional conflict, said Mr. Yusof.
For his part, Morocco’s top diplomat praised the positive stance of Brunei, described as a friendly country which has always stood with the North African Kingdom.
Brunei is member of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and member of the Commonwealth. It is the third largest oil producer in Southeast Asia. It is also the fourth largest producer of liquefied natural gas in the world.
