Chariot, Vivo Energy team up in Morocco gas-to-industry project

Chariot, a UK company that found gas offshore northern Morocco, and fuel distributor Vivo Energy agreed to work together to distribute natural gas to industrial customers in Morocco.

“This agreement confirms the priority given by Chariot to the Moroccan energy market, expands upon our other existing sales negotiations around future offtakes for the gas from the Anchois gas field and sets out a collaborative partnership with one of the continent’s leading energy distributors, as we continue to develop this high margin low risk asset,” said Adonis Pouroulis, Chariot CEO.

Chariot operates in the Anchois gas field within the Lixus Offshore licence area, in which it holds a 75% interest and operatorship, alongside ONHYM which holds a 25% interest.

The company said last year the Anchois well had reserves estimated at 1.4 trillion cubic feet.

Vivo Energy is a pan-African distributor and retailer of fuels and lubricants operating over 400 service stations in Morocco.
