Palestine: Morocco decries irresponsible & provocative remarks of Israeli Minister
The Moroccan government has condemned the irresponsible and provocative remarks made by Israel’s finance minister Bezalel Smotrich, who claimed there is no such thing as Palestinian history or culture and no such thing as a “Palestinian people.”
Commenting this shameful statement made at a conference in France, Moroccan Foreign minister Nasser Bourita said on Wednesday that Rabat “condemns and always rejects any irresponsible behavior and any attitude that could be inflammatory or have negative repercussions.”
Speaking to journalists, Bourita said Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, continues to reaffirm that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to reach a final settlement of the Palestinian issue, respecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their own State on the 1967 borders, with East Al-Quds as its capital, living side by side, in peace and cooperation with Israel.
Morocco always rejects unilateral actions and supports all initiatives conducive to appeasement and to a settlement based on the two-state solution agreed upon by the international community, insisted the foreign minister.
