Morocco: Illegal immigration attempt thwarted, 29 arrested

Elements of the regional security of the northeastern city of Al Hoceima have foiled, Tuesday, an illegal immigration attempt and arrested 29 would-be immigrants, including a young girl and six minors, said a security source.

This operation was conducted in coordination with the services of the Royal Gendarmerie at the coast of Al Hoceima, added the security source, noting that the individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto of an illegal immigration operation by sea.

During this operation, a craft that would have been used in these criminal acts was also seized.

The defendants were subjected to judicial investigation, while research and investigations are continuing for the arrest of possible accomplices in this criminal activity.
