Tunisia: CNCP president Makram Ben Mna fired by Kais Saied

President of the National Commission of Criminal Conciliation (CNCP) Makram Ben Mna was removed from office by President Kais Saied, who is continuing his purge of disturbing officials.

Ben Mna, a judicial magistrate, was appointed to the position in November 2022 but quickly fell out with the Tunisian President who recently accused his commission of doing nothing to recover money looted and assets stolen.

Saied visited the commission on March 16 but in the absence of Mna. Several observers translated his absence as fall from grace and expected his removal.

Saied slammed the commission for delay in delivering on its mission to recover the looted funds.
