Türkiye Earthquake: Number of Moroccan casualties rises to six

The number of Moroccan nationals who died in the devastating earthquake that struck southeastern Türkiye last Monday has now reached six victims, Morocco’s Embassy in Ankara announced on Saturday.

An earlier assessment provided on Thursday by the Government Spokesman had reported four deaths.

The death toll from the earthquakes in Türkiye and northwestern Syria has gone past 29,000 as rescue efforts continue.

According to Sunday reports, the number of deaths in Türkiye rose to 24,617 while more than 4,500 were killed in Syria.

The United Nations says up to 5.3 million people in Syria may be homeless after the earthquakes, while nearly 900,000 people are in urgent need of hot food in Turkey and Syria.
