Easyjet to carry 1.6 million people to Morocco by 2028
Easyjet is planning to increase its seat capacity from several European airports to Morocco to 1.6 million passengers by 2028, up from 800,00 currently, the carrier said.
The announcement was made following a deal with Morocco’s tourism promotion office ONMT.
Easyjet already connects different airports in the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal with Morocco’s tourist hubs of Marrakech, Agadir, Essaouira and Tangier.
ONMT said the airline would also serve other cities including Rabat, Fez and Ouarzazate.
The tourism sector has outperformed pre-pandemic levels with a revenue of 88 billion dirhams or $ 8.5 bln.
Arrivals are on course to match 2019 with 10.9 million tourists visiting the country last year signaling a strong recovery from the impact of the pandemic.
