US Kennedy Center holds Arts Gold Medals international awards ceremony in Marrakech

The US John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will hold the Arts Gold Medals international awards ceremony in Marrakech on January 23.

The ceremony will be attended by Mrs. Deborah F. Rutter, president of the Kennedy Center, and Mrs.Natalia Cobo De Bulgheroni, president of its International Committee, who are currently on a visit to Morocco.

The Kennedy center’s executive held talks in Rabat Thursday with Princess Lalla Meryem.

This year’s “Arts Gold Medals” international awards ceremony will honor Moroccan artistic figures for their efforts and contributions to the arts worldwide.

The Washington-based Kennedy Center, which opened in 1971, hosts many different genres of performance art, such as theater, dance, orchestras, jazz, pop, psychedelic, and folk music.

The center encourages the development of the arts and cultural exchange between the United States and the rest of the world to foster mutual entente and cultural dialogue.
