OCP-founded coding school 1337 finishes third runner-up at CodinGame Fall Challenge 2022
1337, a coding school founded by Morocco’s state-owned phosphate rock miner, phosphoric acid manufacturer and fertilizer producer OCP Group and located at Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique, ranked 3rd at CodinGame Fall Challenge 2022, a world leading coding contest, held from December 12, 2022 to January 05, 2023.
The fee-free school, according to the daily Les Inspirations Eco, disrupted the order at contest dominated by Paris-based 42, another coding school.
More than 250 schools and universities from around the world presented 16,661 students for the challenge held online.
The website of the university notes that the Moroccan coding school is the leading computer science training center, free and open to everyone, 24/7 and no prerequisite needed.
“It is a complete immersion in a universe where the future is already present, where computer science and lines of code are more than a vague and boring concept,” the university adds.
The school uses peer-learning approaches and provides an environment for the students to unleash their potential while working on various projects.
“To train the coders of tomorrow, it was necessary to rethink learning, to make computer science something fun, exciting and the opposite of the restrictive vision that the general public may have,” the university argues.
Upon completion at 1337, one has access to the world of computer science and its associated immense possibilities. It equally means one has taken a serious option on the future of digital professions, whether they already exist or are yet to be invented, Les Inspirations Eco adds.
Poland-based University of Wrocław ranked first runner-up at the competition.
