Royal, public welcome for Morocco’s soccer team upon their return from Qatar where they made history

The Moroccan soccer team will return from Qatar on Tuesday. On high royal instructions, the team will receive a welcome worthy of their brilliant performance at the 2022 World Cup.

The Ministry of the Royal House, Protocol and Chancellery said in a statement the team will meet the public, upon arrival at the Rabat-Salé airport, then will drive through several avenues of capital Rabat up to the Royal Palace, where King Mohammed VI will honor the team with a welcoming ceremony and celebration in recognition of their historic achievement.

King Mohammed VI had congratulated the Moroccan football team for their brilliant performance and their historic and unprecedented achievement at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where they reached the semi-finals, marking a first for Moroccan, Arab and African soccer.

“While congratulating you on this historic and unprecedented achievement, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and pride for what you have accomplished during this great footballing event, in terms of exceptional performance and remarkable discipline which reflect the great professionalism, high competitiveness, sincere patriotism and noble human values which are yours and which embody the spirit of challenge and your determination to spare no effort to raise the flag of Moroccan soccer high on the international scene and represent African and Arab soccer as it should be; a firm determination animated by the encouragement and support of the passionate Moroccan fans who have not ceased to support you with unparalleled enthusiasm, songs and celebrations full of feelings of love and adoration for the Homeland,” the Sovereign underlined in his congratulatory message.

Following the victory Argentina in the final of the 2022 World Cup played Sunday, the king sent a message of congratulations to President Alberto Fernandez.

In this message, the King expressed his warm congratulations to the President and people of Argentina on this victory and hailed all the components of the Argentinian national team “which showed, throughout this prestigious sporting event, a sporting spirit, a very high competitiveness and high technical performances, which enabled it to be crowned, for the third time in its history, World Football Champion.”

King Mohammed VI also sent a message of congratulations to President Emmanuel Macron, after the French team held the second place in the World Cup.

In this message, the Sovereign underlined that throughout its journey, the French team has shown a high degree of professionalism and credibility, saying that this second world place is very honorable for France.
