World Cup: Moroccans rush for tickets to Doha

RAM has added another airplane bringing the total number of special fights to Qatar it has programmed to 8 carrying 2500 fans.

Moroccan fans have drawn so far in this tournament spectacular scenes of non-stop cheering for the Atlas Lions, hoisting national flags and intonating cheers.

Morocco made it on top of its group beating Belgium and Canada after a draw with Croatia and later knocked out Spain in a sensational game in which the squad led by former Morocco international Walid Regragui foiled all Spanish tactics.

In Doha streets and stadiums, Moroccans starred with their joyful celebrations backed by supporters from Africa and the rest of the Arab World.

On Thursday, as the tickets were made available, 300 transactions took place within an hour only as patient fans waited in long queues for their turn to buy a ticket to join thousands of Moroccan countrywomen and men in Doha.

A RAM source told Medias24 that the choice to sell the 2500 gradually was well-thought in order to give a chance to as many people as possible who desire to go to Doha to find a ticket otherwise the tickets could have been sold within an hour.

RAM is offering round trip tickets at 5000 dirhams for fans wishing to cheer Morocco at its decisive game against Portugal on Saturday.
