Sahara: Yemen reaffirms support to Morocco’s autonomy plan & territorial integrity

Yemen has reaffirmed its steadfast support to Morocco’s territorial integrity and autonomy plan offered for a lasting and peaceful resolution of the Sahara regional conflict.

The support was renewed by Yemeni top diplomat Ahmed Awad Bin Mubaraka at a joint press conference held Monday in Rabat following a meeting with Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.

The Yemeni top diplomat reiterated his country’s firm supportive stand for the Moroccanness of the Sahara, affirming that the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco within its sovereignty is the only viable and realistic solution to the Sahara issue.

“We stand with our Moroccan brothers within the frame of Arab solidarity, the Arab League charter and international conventions”, underlined the Yemeni foreign minister.

Bourita thanked Yemen for its constant support for the Moroccan Sahara, a position voiced in various regional and international fora. He also accused Iran of being a disruptive factor and troublemaker in the Arab world.
