Moroccan UM6P university and Israel’s Bar-Ilan to cooperate on clean energy
Moroccan UM6P University and its Israeli peer Bar-Ilan agreed to cooperate in developing clean energies, notably those based on hydrogen, renewables and recycling.
The resumption of ties between Morocco and Israel in late 2020 paved the way for academic cooperation between the two countries, including through exchange programs.
This new partnership will enable young researchers from both countries to work together on energy solutions, head of UM6P Hicham El Habti said.
In April, UM6P signed an academic cooperation deal with Israel’s Institute of Technology Technion before they set out for Israel on a road show last August to explore cooperation prospects in innovative areas.
UM6P has previously announced it will launch together with Ben Gurion University an exchange program benefiting students from the two countries.
Academic cooperation comes to cement growing ties between the two countries that have stretched to cover vital strategic sectors such as defense along with the economy, agriculture and tourism.
