Moroccan cultural scene turns Covid-19 page

At least 520,000 people attended a music festival that run over three days (Sept. 22 – 25) in Rabat, bringing together a constellation of mega music stars, signaling the recovery of Morocco’s artistic scene after a period of cultural lethargy that lasted two years because of Covid-19.

The final concert was attended by 200,000 music-lovers who joined in the Souissi scene to enjoy breathtaking performances by diva Samira said and master Salif Kaita as well as Fnair and world-renowned Lartiste.

Meanwhile in other cities, Jazz fans enjoyed the Tanjazz festival which returned to enchant the public of Tangier after two years of absence. The same city hosted the national film festival.

Marrakech will also regain its glow as a destination of international film stars with the resumption of the Marrakech Film Festival, due on Nov 11-19. The jury will be chaired by the Italian Academy Award winner Paolo Sorrentino.

L’Boulevard, Casablanca’s landmark festival, will make a come back to reconnect rap, hip hop and RNB with their fans, usually young passionate people.

The return of cultural events to be held regularly with the attendance of thousands confirms Morocco’s status as an oasis of peace and stability in a region beset by unrest and instability.

Nowhere in North Africa, other than in Morocco, mega-concerts can be held with hundreds of thousands gathering and dispatching without incidents.
