Libya reports increase in oil production after several months of decline

Libya authorities in charge of the country’s oil production indicated Tuesday oil production has increased 1.025 million barrels per day after a three-month decline owing to a wave of closures of oil fields and ports, Libya Observer reports.
Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Ben Qadara, and the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun, the media notes, made the announcement.
Both a week ago, indicated that oil production in Libya exceeded one million barrels to top 1.025 million barrels per day, compared to an average of 870,000 bpd.
Early this year, the country’s daily production was 1.3 million bpd but sharply declined over repeated closures of several oil fields and ports.
Activities however resumed at most fields last week.
Qadara took over early this month from Mustapha Sanalla who led the state-run company for eight years.
