Morocco on way to revamp health sector

Morocco is forging ahead with the upgrade of its health sector in tandem with the generalization of health insurance as the country’s ministerial council, held Wednesday under the chairmanship of King Mohammed VI- adopts a new draft law to improve health services.

The new law aims to improve health governance at all levels and create the national drug agency as well as a blood agency.

It aims at facilitating cooperation between the private and public sectors and offering incentives for human resources in the public sector while encouraging hiring foreign health workers and encouraging Moroccan doctors abroad to return to their country.

The new law also aims to facilitate access to health services and improve their efficiency as well as to ensure equality in health services across the country, including through upgrading hospitals.
