Marrakesh to host Moroccan-Israeli business forum in May 2022
Moroccan and Israeli businessmen will hold a forum in Marrakech in May 2022 (from 17 to 19) to discuss ways of boosting economic cooperation and investment between the two countries.
The announcement was made by the Moroccan-Israeli Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIMI), one year after the normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel within the frame of the US-brokered Abraham Accords.
The CCIMI, an association bringing together 150 Moroccan operators from various sectors, held its first general assembly on November 25, 2021.
The forum is expected to bring together over 300 businessmen from both countries. They will explore joint business opportunities in various sectors including renewable energy, agriculture, water, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
Before the forum, various seminars and meetings will be organized in Morocco around specific themes, such as the business climate in Israel or big data.
Last March, Morocco’s Employers’ Union (Conféderation Générale des Entreprises du Maroc/CGEM) and the Israeli Employers and Business Organizations (IEBO) signed a strategic partnership to strengthen dialogue and contacts between the two countries’ business communities in import & export, research & development, innovation and technology.
The CGEM and IEBO have also set up a business council to promote cooperation between the Moroccan and Israeli private sectors through the exchange of trade missions, B2B meetings and the establishment of joint ventures.
