“Morocco united against Covid-19”, a new commemorative postage stamp
“Morocco united against Covid-19” is the theme of a new commemorative postage stamp that has just been issued by Barid Al-Maghrib, the Moroccan postal service, to pay tribute to the mobilization and commitment of all institutions and all the components of the Moroccan society to face the coronavirus pandemic.
The stamp illustrates the representatives of all institutions involved in the battle against the COVID-19, including doctors, medical staff, police officers, civil protection agents, and cleaners.
The proceeds of the stamp sales will go to the Special coronavirus management Fund, set up at the initiative of King Mohammed VI, on March 16, to cover coronavirus-related health costs and support sectors vulnerable to shocks induced by the Coronavirus crisis.
Through this postage stamp, sold at 5 dirhams, Barid Al-Maghrib offers citizens and businesses another opportunity to contribute to the national solidarity wave and the nationwide effort to fight the pandemic.
“This postage stamp highlights the commitment of the Moroccan nation with all its components for the implementation of the strategy initiated by King Mohammed VI to fight the pandemic,” said Barid al-Maghrib in a press release, hailing authorities for demonstrating “responsibility and discipline in the implementation of strict but necessary measures.”
