Coronavirus: Al Mada Foundation donates 1 million FFP2 masks to healthcare workers
The Al Mada Foundation announced Monday in a statement that it will offer 1 million FFP2 masks to healthcare workers who are on the front line in the fight against Covid-19.
Actuallty, the FFP2 mask is recommended for hospital use as it ensures the protection of nursing staff who are in direct contact with infected patients.
The donation, worth tens of millions of dirhams, will be handed to the Health Ministry that will distribute them to around fifty Covid-19 hospitals, according to the specific needs of each region, the statement said, adding that the distribution will start on Tuesday.
This move translates the foundation’s solidarity with the medical staff who devote themselves day and night to treating patients infected with the new coronavirus.
The Al Mada Foundation’s donation contributes to the collective effort and the national solidarity chain set up to fight the pandemic.
Al Mada Board of Directors had, on the proposal of its main shareholder, donated more than $200 million to the special fund dedicated to the management of the Coronavirus pandemic in Morocco.
The special fund, designed to cover coronavirus-related health costs and support sectors vulnerable to shocks induced by the Coronavirus crisis, had been created on March 16 at the instructions of King Mohammed VI.
