The summit is an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences on operational solutions provided by the blockchain technology, understanding its capabilities and its impacts on African financial sector.

The event features workshops, debates and a blockchain challenge, a competition aiming to reward international and African start-ups that use Blockchain technology to create innovative solutions.

Africa Blockchain Summit is a Central Bank Governors’ Forum seeking to contribute to the current global thinking on Blockchain, a technology related to digital currency (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and the like). The tech allows digital information to be distributed, but not copied.

One of the major goals of ABS-2019 is to look into the blockchain’s opportunities, challenges and potential applications for the African and the MENA region’s financial sector.
