Zambia Reaffirms Having Cut All Ties with SADR

Zambia has severed ties with the SADR separatist entity and will inform international organizations of its final decision, said Zambia’s Foreign Minister Harry Kabala.

Kabala, who was speaking at a press conference in Rabat together with Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, lauded the ever-growing cooperation ties between his country and Morocco notably after the milestone visit by King Mohammed VI to Lusaka last year.

The Zambian stand in support of Morocco’s territorial integrity has added another nail in the Polisario’s coffin as it keeps receiving blows from its former proponents in the continent.

During the Royal visit to Lusaka, Morocco and Zambia cemented their bilateral ties with the signing of 19 agreements covering economic cooperation, investment, banking, agriculture, renewable energies and tourism among others.

In a joint statement issued after King Mohammed VI’s visit, Zambian President Edgar Chagwa Lungu welcomed the return of Morocco to the African Union describing the event as beneficial for the development and stability of the continent.
