Euphoria in Moroccan Streets after Casablanca Team Wins 2017 CAF Champions League

Thousands took the streets of different Moroccan cities in jubilation after Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca won the 2017 CAF Champions League by defeating Al Ahly of Egypt 1-0 in the second leg of the final.

The victory qualifies Wydad Casablanca to represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup 2017 which will take place in Abu Dhabi.

Following the victory, King Mohammed VI congratulated the team in a phone call, saying that their victory is a pride for all the Moroccan people.
Walid El Karti offered Wydad a precious goal from a well-targeted header in the 69th minute from a precise cross delivered by Acraf Bencharki.

Wydad lift the CAF Champions League trophy for the second time in their history. They won the competition for the first time in 1992.

They will face Pachuca of Mexico in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 on December 9.
