Morocco’s Football Federation to Build Stadiums in Rwanda

Morocco’s Royall Football Federation (FRMF) signed an agreement with Rwandan authorities to build cost-effective stadiums in several districts at an affordable long term repayment plan, Rwanda’s local press reported.

The agreement was signed by the FRMF, the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), Rwandan district mayors, Rwanda’s Housing Authority (RHA) and the Ministry of Infrastructure among others.

The agreement provides for the construction of 3000-seater stadium in each district by the Moroccan company Coter Terhrazaz.

Speaking on this occasion, Christian Rwakunda, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Infrastructure (MINFRA) said; “There is an excellent relationship between the Government of Rwanda and the Kingdom of Morocco, and this relationship is translated into a dynamic cooperation.”

“We have seen good partnership between Rwanda and Morocco in the sector of housing, banking and today we have noticed the start of the cooperation in sport activities.”

Morocco and Rwanda ushered an era of fruitful cooperation following the visit paid to Kigali by King Mohammed VI last October. Nineteen agreements were signed on the occasion of this visit setting the stage for cooperation in fields ranging from economy, finance and science to air transport and renewable energy.
