Rabat-Salé Airport has introduced self-service baggage drop kiosks as part of a gradual rollout of the technology across Morocco’s airports, Airports of Morocco (formerly ONDA) announced Friday.
Six kiosks have been installed at Terminal 2 for Ryanair passengers, following the system’s initial launch with Royal Air Maroc at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport.
The system allows passengers to drop off checked baggage themselves after check-in, potentially reducing processing time by 50% to 75%, according to operational estimates.
Nearly two-thirds of passenger traffic across Morocco’s airports could benefit from the technology, which aims to reduce queues and streamline airport procedures.
The initiative complements other digital solutions, including mobile boarding passes and the Pax Check system, as Airports of Morocco seeks to improve operational efficiency and enhance the passenger experience.
