Critical Mineral Resources Hits High-Grade Silver at Agadir Melloul Project

British exploration company Critical Mineral Resources has reported high-grade silver, copper and gold results from drilling at its Agadir Melloul project in Morocco, releasing assay results from 21 new diamond drill holes. Two holes, BH 174 and BH 175, returned particularly strong silver grades.

BH 174 delivered the strongest result, with a 20-centimetre section starting at a depth of 66 metres containing 5,390 grams of silver per ton, 10.24% copper and 2.8 grams of gold per ton. The same hole also returned an average of 430 grams of silver per ton over a wider 2.6-metre section.

BH 175 returned 402 grams of silver per ton, 0.72% copper and 0.36 grams of gold per ton over one metre. The company said the results suggest a separate silver-rich structure controlled by a geological fault, with BH 174 sitting directly on the fault and BH 175 drilled close to a dense network of quartz-carbonate veins; further drilling is needed to confirm the structure’s direction, depth, size and continuity.

The findings add a potential silver target to a project that has mainly been explored for sediment-hosted copper. The broader drilling program now covers 272 holes and 11,347 meters across the property, building on a previously identified exploration target of 20 to 25 million tons of mineralized rock — a figure the company stresses is an exploration target rather than a certified mineral resource.

Critical Mineral Resources is also studying a potential open-pit mine at the site with planned processing of 650 to 1,000 tons of ore a day, targeting initial production in 2027-28 subject to further economic studies, permits and financing. The company said it will continue drilling and geological work to determine the scale of the newly identified silver zone.
