Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces will hold aerial displays and exhibition parachute jumps on July 30 and 31, as part of the celebrations marking the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne of his glorious ancestors, according to a statement from the general staff of the Royal Armed Forces. The King is also Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, and the aerial program forms part of the wider festivities organized each year around the anniversary.
The air shows will unfold over two consecutive days in the north of the kingdom, taking place along the coast of M’diq on July 30 and over the Martil corniche the following day, both beginning at 6 p.m. The displays will be led by the Royal Air Forces’ acclaimed aerobatics team, known as Marche Verte, the statement said.
At the Bouregreg Marina in Sale, exhibition parachute jumps will run throughout the day on Thursday, July 30, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing for the full day. The jumps will be performed by both male and female members of Morocco’s national parachuting team, according to the general staff’s communique.
The parachutists’ program will showcase a range of disciplines, the statement said, including precision landing exercises, formation routines using contact canopies, and other artistic tableaux, alongside acrobatic maneuvers and formations executed during free fall.
The air and parachuting displays form part of the broader nationwide program of festivities organized to mark Throne Day, one of the kingdom’s most significant national occasions, which commemorates the sovereign’s accession as head of state and supreme commander of the Royal Armed Forces.
