Charikaty, a Moroccan legaltech platform specializing in digitalizing company formation and legal services, has launched a dedicated remote offering aimed at Moroccans living abroad, allowing members of the diaspora to create and manage a company in Morocco entirely online and without ever setting foot in the country.
The move addresses a longstanding obstacle for diaspora entrepreneurs, who have traditionally faced a choice between traveling back to Morocco to navigate notaries and government offices in person, or relying on a power of attorney and hoping the paperwork progressed in their absence. Charikaty’s new service handles legal structuring, document preparation, and government registration digitally from anywhere in the world.
The launch targets one of Morocco’s most economically significant communities. Remittances from Moroccans abroad reached a record 122 billion dirhams in 2025, with the diaspora estimated at more than 6.5 million people. Founded by Amr Mouaqit as chief executive and Driss Sijelmassi as chief operating officer, Charikaty built the offering specifically for non-residents, including remote identity verification, guidance on legal structure, fully digital documentation and signatures, and registration with Moroccan authorities through a single point of contact.
Support continues after incorporation, with the same platform allowing clients to handle company modifications, trademark registration, and ongoing legal compliance without further trips home. The launch arrives as Morocco actively courts diaspora investment, with King Mohammed VI having called for streamlined administrative procedures for Moroccans abroad, the country’s Regional Investment Centers running dedicated programs to channel diaspora capital, and the government’s Maroc Digital 2030 strategy pushing public services online.
Looking ahead, Charikaty plans to deepen partnerships with banks, consulates, and diaspora networks across Europe and North America, and to expand multilingual support as it works toward becoming a default piece of legal infrastructure for entrepreneurs both at home and abroad.
