Launch of New Direct Strasbourg-Marrakech Air Route

A new direct flight between Strasbourg and Marrakech, operated by low-cost airline EasyJet, was launched on Sunday.

This route will connect Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport to Marrakech Menara Airport with two weekly flights, every Thursday and Sunday.

The new route aims to improve connectivity between the two cities, which has so far been provided via connecting flights or other airport hubs. It will offer passengers a direct alternative for both business and leisure travel, as well as for the Moroccan diaspora’s travel.

Gilles Telliers, president of Strasbourg Entzheim International Airport, expressed his satisfaction with the success of this inaugural flight, which was “fully booked” on both the outbound and return legs aboard a 157-seat Airbus 319.

“We are very pleased to welcome this new route to Morocco, and Marrakech in particular, for both tourists and business travelers,” he said.

This route addresses the growing need for connectivity between the two major metropolitan areas. It will greatly facilitate travel for families, students, businesspeople, and tourists, Tellier added.

EasyJet plans to operate an expanded network in Morocco, with a total of 19 routes from seven French airports by 2026.
