Morocco U17 national football team have defeated Tunisia (2-0), Algeria (3-0) and Egypt (2-1) to secure their 5th North Africa Championship title before their final match against Libya next Sunday.
The Atlas Cubs have dominated ongoing the North Africa Tournament qualifiers for U-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2026. The tournament is taking place in Benghazi, Libya, from 24 March to 5 April. It gathers the host country, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt. Only top three teams qualify for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2026.
With their three consecutive wins, the Atlas Cubs take the lead (9 points) and the North African Championship. Algeria come in the second place followed by Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. Morocco National U17 team had won the North African football titles of 2007, 2011, 2018 and 2022.
Morocco, defending African champions, will host the 2026 U-17 AFCON from 25 April to 15 May 2026 with the participation of 16 African teams. The event is an African qualifying competition for the FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled in Qatar in November 2026.
