
16th El Jadida Horse Show: Official opening chaired by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan
Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan chaired, on Monday at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center, the opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, which runs until October 6 under the theme “Horse Welfare, a Link Between Equestrian Practices.”
After he was greeted by the guests of this 16th edition of the Horse Show, mainly from Türkiye, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, as well as by Moroccan officials and local elects, the Crown Prince visited the various villages at the Show dedicated to sponsors, institutions, breeders, crafts, international affairs, art and culture, and the regions of the Kingdom, as well as an area reserved for children and designed to introduce them to the Kingdom’s rich equestrian heritage.
He then attended, in the main arena, shows, artistic performances and equestrian acrobatics performed by Moroccan and foreign troops and riders.
The Crown Prince then attended at the Tbourida arena fantasia shows hosted by 18 Sorbas representing the different regions of the Kingdom.
The El Jadida Horse Show, organized under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, which has become over the years a must platform for meetings and exchanges between the various stakeholders in the horse industry, highlights the rich horse cultural heritage of the Kingdom and the multiple uses of horses in sport, culture and festivals.
This flagship event highlights the special place of the horse in Morocco’s history, cultural identity, and collective memory.
This event, which has acquired an ever-growing national and international reputation, offers a rich and diversified scientific, cultural and entertainment program.
In this connection, several horse-related activities are organized as part of high-level competitions or exhibitions: the Barb Horse Champions Cup, the Arab-Barb Horse Champions Cup, the International A-Show for Purebred Arabians, the Moroccan Cup of Purebred Arabian Horse Breeders, King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix of Show Jumping and King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix of Tbourida.
This edition will also features the organization, for the first time, of the international competition for Purebred Arabian horse models and gaits in category “A” in the Title Show, recognition by international authorities of the excellence achieved by this competition.
The cultural and scientific aspects will not be overlooked, as horses will be examined in numerous conferences, workshops, and round tables, as well as in a variety of entertainment activities reserved for young audiences.
