Tunisair Technics called off strike after last-minute deal
A planned three-day strike by employees of Tunisair Technics has been officially cancelled following a successful conciliation session facilitated by Tunisia’s Ministry of Social Affairs.
The industrial action, originally scheduled for 3–5 July, was withdrawn after negotiations between the UGTT (Tunisian General Labor Union), company representatives, and Government officials led to a consensus. The emergency meeting resulted in a formal agreement, prompting the immediate return of workers to duty.
While the specific terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, the resolution has been welcomed as a critical step in averting major disruptions to Tunisia’s already strained aviation sector. Industry observers had warned that the strike could have severely impacted both domestic and international flight operations, further denting the reputation of the national carrier, Tunisair. The Ministry has hailed the outcome as a demonstration of dialogue-driven conflict resolution amid mounting pressures on the transport infrastructure.
