Morocco, Mauritania determined to upgrade their military cooperation
Morocco and Mauritania have voiced their shared determination to upgrade their military and defense cooperation.
This came during a meeting held in Marrakech between Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, Mohammed Berrid, and Mauritanian Minister of Defense Hanena Ould Sidi, on the sidelines of Marrakech Air Show 2024.
The meeting was an opportunity to examine several key issues with a view to strengthening military cooperation between the two countries and to explore new prospects for cooperation in the fields of defense, a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the depth and solidity of military relations between the two neighboring countries, in light of the challenges and issues facing the region.
The two officials also underlined their shared commitment to upgrade military cooperation in line with the two countries’ aspirations, the press release said.
