Morocco-Nigeria: OCP Africa supports Gombe State promote farming
OCP Africa, a subsidiary of Morocco’s OCP Group, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the State of Gombe to support the agricultural sector in this northeastern region of Nigeria.
OCP Africa will provide its support to the State of Gombe, Nigeria, for the development of its agricultural sector, the subsidiary of the OCP Group, whose mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of African agriculture, announced on its social media pages X and LinkedIn.
This memorandum of understanding, concluded during a recent visit to Morocco by the Governor of the State of Gombe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, outlines key initiatives such as the development of agricultural centers, mobile soil analysis solutions, the Agribooster project, and technical support for the creation of a state-owned fertilizer blending plant.
These initiatives are strategically designed to address productivity and sustainability challenges throughout the agricultural value chain, supporting Gombe’s farmers, and promoting economic growth in the region, OCP Africa said.
“This partnership comes at a crucial time for Gombe, where more than 80% of the population is engaged in agriculture,” it emphasized.
