Côte d’Ivoire: Faman Toure re-elected chairman of Chamber of commerce and industry
Faman Toure, the outgoing chairman of Côte d’Ivoire’s Chamber of commerce and industry (CCI-CI), won Monday August 28 another six-year term in the position.
Toure’s team known as “Ensemble pour une Chambre forte” [Together for a stronger Chamber] clinched 84 per cent of votes during a congress held in Yamoussokro.
He won over rival Boni Franck Michael’s team “La Nouvelle Vision 360” [The New 360 Vision] which received 13.86 per cent of votes.
Toure assumed the leadership of the chamber in 2016. The man joined the CCI-CI in 2002 and was elected Deputy Chairman in charge of finances and later in 2012 as Deputy Chairman.
A trained agriculture engineer, Toure is a professional mediator and a graduate of the “Institut International des Assurances (IIA)” in Yaoundé. Also trained in mediation and negotiation, he has insurance and management expertise.
